Help Create a New “Brand” for Richmond County!
The Richmond County Tourism Development Authority has embarked on an effort to create a graphic identity and marketing strategy to promote the community and its assets to residents, visitors, and investors. The project began in November, 2013 and includes public participation in addition to input from numerous focus groups and stake holders.
What is a brand?
A “brand” is a promise that is made to a consumer that speaks to the unique value and characteristics of the product. Just like a soft drink or shoe company, this would apply to a community as well. Therefore, a community brand would present the unique characteristics and values that separate a community from others within the region.
The Richmond County Tourism Development Authority brand will not be simply a logo, but rather a graphic identity with a unique style, theme, palette, typography, and overall message that is applied to a broader system that will position Richmond County as a special place. This brand system will begin with a graphic logo composition and style set, including a community tag line and brand statement. The brand imagery is then applied to various marketing concepts and strategies including logo variations, brand extension, and other collateral such as wayfinding signage, website concepts, brochure concepts, print advertisements, etc. The goal is to create a seamless marketing package for the community that can be implemented over time.
